Danielle Burch
Designer

Danielle’s talent for clean, elegant design is evident in the array of corporate and educational projects she has completed since joining us nearly four years ago. Most recently, she has designed logos and supporting materials for development efforts at Princeton Day School and Temple University, annual reports for Catholic Health Care Services and Catholic Social Services, and a website for the Orleans Technical Institute. She also has worked with corporate clients such as SunGard, IKON, and Veritable. Danielle served on the board of the Philadelphia chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design.

Michael Butler

Michael draws on more than 15 years of experience as he develops communication strategies, creative concepts, and print and web content. He has also been a key contributor to our audience research and message development work. Most recently, he has worked on major strategic communications projects for Temple University, Choate Rosemary Hall, and Princeton Day School, completing all message research, audience testing, concept development, and writing. Before joining us in 1994 as a senior staff writer, Michael worked in public relations at Drexel University.

With more than 15 years’ experience in college admissions, recruitment, and student services, Beth brings a broad understanding of the challenges of educational marketing to Kelsh Wilson. This understanding serves her well as she contacts potential clients about admissions and development projects, collaborates with our creative staff, and markets Kelsh Wilson’s capabilities. Beth joined us from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where she directed efforts in admissions, marketing, and alumni relations. Before that, she held similar roles at Cabrini College in Radnor, PA, and Bryn Mawr College.

During her seven years with us, Julia has created meaningful and memorable visual identities and logos, print communications, and websites for corporate and educational clients. Recently she has designed multi-piece print admissions packages for Eckerd College and Rowan University, admissions viewbooks for The Haverford School and Princeton Day School, and a visual identity and website for Brandywine Global. Before joining Kelsh Wilson, Julie held the positions of senior graphic designer and art director at two other Philadelphia communications and design firms. She also has taught design courses at Moore College of Art and Design.

Kris Conner

Since joining us nearly seven years ago, Kris has been involved in message research, strategy and concept development, and writing for both print and web communications. Most recently, she has worked on projects for educational clients such as Choate Rosemary Hall, Gilman School, Kent Place School, Rowan University, and SUNY College at Oneonta, as well as for corporate clients such as Brandywine Global, and Berger & Montague. Kris’s background includes eight years of freelance health and medical writing experience, during which she published a book on ovarian cancer. Kris also has taught English at the middle school and college levels.

Roz Duffy

With nearly a decade of experience designing, producing, and managing websites, Roz brings a strong sense of user empathy, flexibility and technical know-how to our web projects. Before joining our team, Roz acted as an IT project leader at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where she helped overhaul the internal student portal to improve online educational experience. Roz is a strong proponent of web standards and accessibility and aims to create well-structured websites that can be used and enjoyed by a wide audience. She stays current with her skills by actively participating in the Philadelphia tech community. Most recently, she has worked with Oregon State University, George Washington University, and Settlement Music School.

Chad Kaufman

Chad tackles communications challenges with smart, innovative design solutions. His particular strength is versatility, allowing him to produce communications packages that include both crisp print designs and elegant, user-centered websites. Most recently, Chad has designed annual fund packages for Temple University School of Medicine and Franklin and Marshall, an invitation package for Settlement Music School, and a website for Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists Barlett and Steele. He also conceptualized and developed a logo system for the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors®.

Tina Kaupe

An asset to our business office and to the firm as a whole, Tina works closely with principal and business manager Kathie Wissmann on tasks related to billing and accounting, supply purchases, marketing, and other day-to-day operations. She also serves as an invaluable final editor and proofreader for many of our projects. As someone who has always been interested in the visual arts, Tina enjoys employing her organizational skills in the firm’s creative environment.

Nick Kelsh

A founding partner in the firm, Nick has 20 years of experience in creating the kinds of images that speak directly to our clients’ key audiences. He has a gift for capturing the spirit and vision of educational institutions and corporations, and he has contributed his talents to nearly all of our major projects. Nick’s award-winning work also has appeared in such high-profile publications as Time, Life, and National Geographic, as well as on several covers in the well-known “Day in the Life” book series. Over the past decade, Nick has written and photographed nine of his own books, including a series of how-to photography guides published by Stewart, Tabori & Chang and projects that celebrate the wonder of childhood, Naked Babies and Siblings.

Kevin Monko

Kevin’s strengths include technical skill, artistic flair, and the real-world resourcefulness to capture images that are both memorable and message-driven. Over the course of his 12 years with us, Kevin’s photographs have graced countless projects, from admissions and development communications to corporate collateral and annual reports. He excels at working with all of his subjects—from first-graders to college professors to CEOs—to get truly compelling photographs. Kevin has worked on location with clients such as The Haverford School, The University of the Arts, Temple University, SUNY College at Oneonta, The College of William & Mary, SunGard, and IKON Office Solutions.

Katrina Myers

Katrina guides our clients and supports our project teams through the collaborative design process, from concept development through creative execution. She brings several years of experience in higher education development, alumni relations, and communications. At Temple University, she wrote print and web communications for alumni programs, fundraising initiatives, and stewardship programs. Most recently, she worked at Temple's School of Communications and Theater to communicate its mission, vision, and key messages. Katrina also serves on the alumni board of directors of the University of Notre Dame, and helps coordinate alumni programs and services, web communications, and student recruitment.

As associate design director, Lia draws on more than 15 years of design experience, 11 of them spent with Kelsh Wilson. In that time she has built productive long-term relationships with many of our clients. Often she serves as lead designer on large-scale projects, shaping creative concepts, managing the work of other designers, and ensuring the quality of the final product. Most recently, she has led work on development communications for Temple University, Princeton Day School, and Choate Rosemary Hall. In addition, Lia has designed many of her own projects, including admissions viewbooks for The Hill School and Kent Place School and print and web versions of an annual report for IKON.

Matt Roosa

Matt brings Kelsh Wilson's web designs to life, making dynamic, visually stunning websites for our clients. Over the past two years, he has helped plan and build websites and content management systems for Far Hills Country Day School, Finger Lakes Community College, and Kent Place School. Through his programming abilities and design aesthetic , Matt has found creative, purposeful ways to communicate client messages using Flash, particularly for Kochman, Reidt and Haigh Cabinetmakers and Oregon State University Foundation. He will graduate in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in digital design from Philadelphia University.

As the guiding force behind all of Kelsh Wilson’s strategic and creative work, Fred Wilson draws on more than two decades of experience as a designer, art director, and business owner. In 1989, he founded his own firm, Wilson Design Associates, which he merged with Kelsh Marr Studios in 1992 to form Kelsh Wilson Design. Working with photographer Nick Kelsh, he created a firm that integrated the disciplines of graphic design, Web design, photography, and writing under one roof—a unique advantage to clients seeking communications services.

Jodee Winger

Jodee’s skillful use of color, typography, and illustration is the hallmark of her designs for many of Kelsh Wilson’s educational and corporate clients. Most recently, she has worked on print communications for Temple University’s development office and a new visual identity for SunGard. Jodee has created numerous print admissions packages for clients such as SUNY College at Oneonta, Settlement Music School, Newark Academy, and Germantown Friends School. She also has designed collateral materials for SunGard’s 100% Club, an annual event that rewards the company’s top-performing salespeople.

Lisa Winward

Lisa has been with Kelsh Wilson almost since its inception, and in that time she has developed an in-depth understanding of the business and our clients’ needs. As design director, she offers creative guidance to our staff designers, overseeing their work from the earliest conceptual stages through final production. Lisa is especially effective at collaborating with individual designers to help them refine their ideas into designs that are not only beautiful and innovative, but also suit the needs of the particular project and client. She herself has designed numerous annual reports, admissions packages, and corporate marketing materials. Before joining us more than 15 years ago, Lisa was a graphic designer in Los Angeles.

Kathie Wissmann
Principal / Business Manager

As the newest principal in the firm, Kathie works closely with Nick Kelsh and Fred Wilson to manage the firm’s day-to-day operations and focus on longer-term business objectives. She also oversees workflow, budgeting, and all tasks related to human resources. Kathie has been Kelsh Wilson’s business manager since the firm was founded, and before that she handled business functions for its two predecessor firms, Kelsh Marr, Inc., and Wilson Design Associates.

Melinda Wissmann

From creating proposals and interacting with new clients to keeping tabs on the details of ongoing projects, Mindy is involved in every aspect of account managing. She serves as account director for several projects, most recently working with Rowan University, Catholic Health Care Services, Berger & Montague, and Piedmont Realty. Mindy also plays a key role in coordinating Kelsh Wilson’ s marketing efforts, ranging from advertisements and conference attendance to our capabilities brochures and website.
